THE FASHION INDUSTRY REFLECTS ON THE LAST SEASON OF MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK IN BRYANT PARK
SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE EDITION OF THE DAILY BIDS ‘AU REVOIR BRYANT PARK! BONJOUR LINCOLN CENTER!’
New York, NY (February 9, 2010) – From February 11-18, 2010, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will celebrate its final season in Bryant Park, moving in September to its new home at Lincoln Center. To honor the occasion, memories will be shared through both the Tent’s graphics and in a special commemorative issue of The Daily Front Row.
The now iconic Bryant Park Tents will be adorned with quotes from fashion industry insiders sharing their memories of how the event has impacted the world of fashion and changed the lives of both designers and industry professionals. Once inside, look for The Daily’s Commemorative Issue. A staple of the New York event, this go-to-glossy will mirror the memories shared on the exterior with fun and forgotten moments.
In September, the shows will take place for the first time at Lincoln Centers Damrosch Park, a move that puts the event squarely in its place as a cultural landmark, and that allows the event to adapt to a new century.
Attached please find some excerpts of the memories, experiences and recollections from the Industry’s Finest to be included in the graphics for this season’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and a first-look at The Daily’s Commemorative Issue.

the spotlight. As a result, it has given us a world presence. There's no better way to support our
industry than when we stand together as one.”
Erin Wasson: “I've spent hours in the Tents working as a model with some of the icons of
American fashion. Showing my collection on the same runway was surreal—humbling and
honored are the words that come to mind.”
Ernst Lieb, Mercedes-Benz USA: “Mercedes-Benz design speaks to individuals who are
fashion driven.”
Fern Mallis, IMG Fashion: “The Tents at Bryant Park succeeded and triumphed beyond my
wildest expectations. I am so proud of how they became the lightening rod for fashion in
America.”
Francine Parnes, Associated Press: “We squeezed into showrooms, we schlepped to the Piers.
Till Bryant Park headlined, for 17 years. The photogs’ flash frenzy, the fancy front row, celebrity
gridlock, now on with the show!”
Francine Parnes, Associated Press: “I’m on the list. Don’t you know who I am?”
Francine Parnes, Associated Press: “The greatest show on earth. Lights, cameras, fashion!”
Kelly Cutrone, People’s Revolution: “I remember walking into the Tents for the very first time,
a dreamer and a stranger to this world.”
Steven Kolb, CFDA: “CFDA is proud to have been the original organizers of the Tents in
Bryant Park. They have become the heart of New York fashion and there isn't an aspiring
designer who hasn't dreamed of showing here.”
Tim Gunn: “I propose that a plaque be mounted in the park as a legacy: ‘The Bryant Park Tents
1993-2010 branded New York as the indisputable Fashion Capital of the World.’”
Tommy Hilfiger: “The Bryant Park shows forever changed the fashion industry—they inspired
an unprecedented camaraderie amongst New York designers. Lincoln Center is the perfect new
home for the Tents—both are iconic cultural institutions.”
