DreamHome Gala

By Kathryn Chlapcik

The Merchandise Mart Chicago hosted a Gala Event for the opening of DreamHome 2010 on the evening of April 15, 2010. The private event drew some of Chicago’s most notable leaders in design, fashion and art for an exciting night filled with “heavenly” event décor, delicious food, elegant drinks cool jazz and innovative design all in the name of charity.

It was presented by The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation (UCCRF) Women’s Board. Guests at the DreamHome Preview Party were the first to see the design house, meet the designers and support the UCCRF Women’s Board in its mission to make cancer a thing of past.

Nine of Chicago’s most recognized names in the design industry came together for the 6th annual DreamHome, themed “Cool Elegance” for its nod to comfortable living and a hint of modern sophistication. This year’s design house is stylish, yet timeless blending luxury furnishings from The Design Center showrooms with clean lines to create an awe-inspiring space.
